Sweet Waiting...
Silver sparkle ran down
the waves,
Eyelids blinked when it
shone.
The setting sun blushed
deep,
Excitement of unknown
lingered for him.
Sweat dripped down her
brow,
Streams broken by end
of saree.
Her fingers, palm molding flow,
Eyes stealing a glance
at clock.
The clock sparrow came
out and cooed,
She checked room in
quick glance.
Sweet fragrance from
daisies drifted in,
She quivered as cold
water touched her skin.
White mogra crowned her
black hair,
Her red saree holding
her in one.
Crickets in orchestra
drowned the sound of silence,
She sat on verandah,
playing with trinkets.
Watched moon wane among
clouds,
Stars blinking &
going off to sleep.
The gate cracked open,
Her still body waking
up in smile.
